Las Vegas, NV— Anyone who has visited Las Vegas in the last few years would agree that the level of visual stimuli along the Las Vegas Strip is absolutely spectacular. To stand out in this environment you have to be willing to push the envelope to capture not only attention, but also market share. Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, formerly known as the Aladdin, has pushed the envelope with a high-end renovation that is a true showstopper.

One of the more spectacular additions to Planet Hollywood’s Las Vegas location includes the deployment of 5 massive Panasonic Astrovision (24 mm) LED screens that are a prominent feature of the hotel’s exterior. At the hotel’s entrance is a 57-foot high curved LED display that towers over the strip. Spanning the entire length of the hotel is one of the largest “ribbon displays” ever deployed, which traces the contours of the hotel’s undulating facade. The Ribbon measures 600 feet in length by 5 feet in height and displays seamless text and graphics that flow across the length of the Ribbon. Three additional LED screens are also mounted on the hotel’s facade; the combined effect of all five displays, along with exterior lighting is magic.

Panasonic recently announced at InfoComm 2008 the addition of 10 new LED and SMD Large Screen Systems. The new systems come in a range of configurations from 4 mm to 40 mm, making their solutions suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
