At the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, its technology will be highlighted in MPH in-band mobile digital television (DTV) technology demonstrations hosted by Harris Corporation, LG Electronics, and Zenith.

Showcasing dynamic and compelling advertising applications during the NAB exhibition, Triveni Digital’s SkyScraper point-to-multipoint content distribution system will support delivery of MPH-encoded content via a local Sinclair Broadcast Group television station to an MPH receiver traveling around Las Vegas in a stretch Hummer limousine.

MPH leverages ATSC digital television broadcasting to enable delivery of broadcast-quality video to personal DTVs, mobile phones, laptops, in-car infotainment systems, PDAs, and other portable media devices, whether used by a pedestrian or passenger in a moving vehicle. In this application, a Triveni Digital Ensignia digital signage solution will enable display of video content, complemented by a live ticker and a continually updated advertising panel on board the vehicle.

“MPH technology makes local digital TV programming, as well as live sports, news, and weather, available to the mobile user on the go,” said Ralph Bachofen, senior director of product management and marketing at Triveni Digital. “Our mobile digital signage demonstration at the 2008 NAB Show will highlight this technology’s real-life value in reaching consumers with high-quality messaging and live programming. Riders will have the opportunity to enjoy the quality and consistency of this dynamic mobile broadcast model.”

For broadcasters, mobile technology opens the door to new revenue streams, supporting exciting new applications without compromising continued HDTV, SDTV, and datacasting services. Consumers benefit through access to their favorite programs and services, even when they’re on the road or using a handheld video device away from home.

Triveni Digital will showcase additional digital signage systems at the Harris booth (N2502) and within the ATSC Hot Spot (LVCC South Hall, Upper Lobby).
